"Intermezzo" is a child of CYRIL AWAKENS and Josu Mämmi. Their first EP combines the artists' styles into a mesmerizing journey with a strong pulse, hovering vocals, and a manifold of colours and emotions. Underlying themes such as parallel realities, sleep and constant online presence lit the artists' way while they pioneered their common path in the wilderness of sound and melodies. The title track opens the EP presenting a generative ambient soundscape topped with haunting anticipatory vocal lines. The opening leads to "Sporadic", a dance floor-oriented song about dreams and the fragile condition of ones mind. The EP ends where it all started, Josu Mämmi's remix of "Ghost". The idea to work together came when Josu heard CYRIL's brilliant original from their debut album "Virgin". After Josu had remixed the track, artists' set out to create the EP worthy of the 'Ghost' -remix, and so "Intermezzo" -EP was born.

About artists:

CYRIL AWAKENS is a Finnish multidisciplinary band producing
forward-thinking electronic pop with dance music influences. Inspired by the multifaceted realm of Internet, glitched out graphical forms and everyday life, their music is a mixture of new and old combining drum machine beats, melancholic melodies and beautiful soundscapes.

Josu Mämmi is a Finland-based composer and a musician with influences from micro house, minimal techno, jazz, funk, modern contemporary art music and ambient with hints of pop aesthetics and idm. Blessed with a wide taste in music and culture, his artistic output blends and distills material from wide sources resulting in often surprising and colourful pieces of sound.
